Parker E3609-70 O-ring

The E3609-70 (EPDM) O-Ring, has cleanliness and steam resistance favored for Life Science and Consumer applications. Certifications include: FDA, USP Class VI, ISO, NSF 51, & NSF 61.

Available with inside diameter from 0.029 to 25.94" and widths from 0.04 to 0.274". Temperature range: -70°F to 250°F. These ethylene propylene rubber (EPM, EPR, EPDM) O-rings are compatible with solvents and other chemicals.

Chemical resistance:

  • Hot water and steam up to 300°F, 500°F with special compounds
  • Glycol based brake fluids (Dot 3 & 4) up to 300°F
  • Silicone-based brake fluids up to 300°F
  • Many organic and inorganic acids
  • Cleaning agents, sodium and potassium alkalis
  • Phosphate-ester based hydraulic fluids (HFD-R)
  • Silicone oil and grease
  • Many polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters)
  • Ozone, aging and weather resistant

Not compatible with: Mineral oil products (oils, greases and fuels)

*Custom sizes and coatings/markings available.

Silicone 70 Durometer O-Ring #S0604-70 GP

Parker S0604-70 GP O-ring

The S0604-70 GP (Silicone) O-Rings, are very compatible with PFPE, cold water, and ozone. Certifications include: A-A-59588 2a 2b GR 70 (ZZ-R-765), AMS 3304, AMS 3357 & MIL-G-21569.

Available with inside diameter from 0.029 to 25.94" and widths from 0.04 to 0.275". Temperature range: -65°F to 450°F. These silicone (VMQ, PVMO) O-rings have good ozone and weather resistance as well as good insulating and physiologically neutral properties. However, silicone elastomers as a group, have relatively low tensile strength, poor tear strength and little wear resistance.

Chemical resistance:

  • Animal and vegetable oil and grease
  • High molecular weight chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons (including flame-resistant insulators, and coolant for transformers)
  • Moderate water resistance
  • Diluted salt solutions
  • Ozone, aging and weather
  • Phosphate-ester based hydraulic fluids (HFD-R)
  • Silicone oil and grease
  • Many polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters)
  • Ozone, aging and weather resistant

Not compatible with:

  • Superheated water steam over 60°C (140°F)
  • Acids and alkalis
  • Low molecular weight chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethylene)
  • Hydrocarbon based fuels
  • Aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene)
  • Low molecular weight silicone oils

*Custom sizes and coatings/markings available.

Fluorocarbon (Viton™) 70 Durometer O-Ring #VB185-70

Parker VB185-70 O-ring

The VB185-70 (Viton) O-Rings, are very compatible with fuels.

Available with inside diameter from 0.029 to 25.94" and widths from 0.04 to 0.275". Temperature range: -15°F to 400°F. These fluorocarbon (FKM, FPM) O-rings have better chemical resistance than traditional fluorocarbon materials. Chemical resistance is expanded to include Nitric Acid, Sulfuric Acid, Ammonium Hydroxide Acid, Phosphoric Acid and Hydrochloric Acid.

Chemical resistance:

  • Acid resistance
  • Steam resistance
  • Mineral oil and grease, ASTM oil No. 1, and IRM 902 and IRM 903 oils
  • Non-flammable hydraulic fluids (HFD)
  • Silicone oil and grease
  • Mineral and vegetable oil and grease
  • Aliphatic hydrocarbons (butane, propane, natural gas)
  • Aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene)
  • Chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethylene and carbon tetrachloride)
  • Gasoline (including high alcohol content)
  • Very good ozone, weather and aging resistance

Not compatible with:

  • Glycol based brake fluids
  • Ammonia gas, amines, alkalis
  • Low molecular weight organic acids (formic and acetic acids)

Viton™ is a fluoropolymer elastomer and synthetic rubber compound, trademarked by DuPont under this brand name. It’s a fluorinated hydrocarbon rubber product with amazing capabilities, designed to withstand even the most challenging of environments. Note: Viton™ seals may be ineffective at temperatures below 5°F, because the material can become hard and inflexible.

*Custom sizes and coatings/markings available.

Nitrile (Buna) 70 Durometer O-Ring #N1499-70

Parker N1499-70 O-ring

Parker’s UL-listed 70  durometer black nitrile (NBR) N1499-70 is an excellent general purpose material that has good mechanical properties when compared to other elastomers. It is very compatible with oils and gases, however NBR is not resistant to weathering and ozone. Specifications met: UL, UL-Fire, UL-ApKer, UL-NatGas, UL-FuelOil, UL-LPGas, & UL-DryChem.

Available with inside diameter from 0.029 to 25.94" and widths from 0.04 to 0.275". Temperature range: -30°F to 250°F.

Chemical resistance:

  • Aliphatic hydrocarbons - propane, butane, petroleum oil, mineral oil and grease, vegetable oil, diesel fuel, fuel oils
  • HFA, HFB and HFC hydraulic fluids
  • Dilute acids, alkali and salt solutions at low temperatures
  • Water up to 212°F (100°C)

Not compatible with: Fuels of high aromatic content, aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene), chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethylene), strong acids, glycols, ozone, weather, atmospheric aging, and polar solvents (ketone, acetone, acetic acid, ethylene-ester)

This material Fluorocarbon (FKM, FPM) is available internally lubricated as N1499-70WAX.
